Want free sheet music?

You know how frustrating it is to find good sheet music online? Well, good thing there's IMSLP. This site is a huge archive of public domain sheet music. You can find anything here from songs for voice and piano to full orchestral scores. I often find myself using it to find scores of German lieder. If you play an instrument or sing, this site is an incredibly valuable resource.

My Newest Handmade Ocarina

Click for Sound Sample

Here's the latest ocarina I've made. I made it a month or two ago at school. It's made from glazed stoneware. I wanted to make something nice and low, and I succeeded. This is the lowest (and heaviest) oc I've ever made. It's tuned somewhere between Eb and E, so with breath adjustment, it can play either key (which is somewhat convenient, yet incredibly annoying at the same time). This time, I decided to put both subholes on the right hand. As you can hear in the recording, the top 2 notes are unusable. The white spots you see on the back are stilt marks; nothing I can do about those, unfortunately.

School's out now, so I won't be able to make clay ocarinas for a while. However, I'll be able to attempt more wood ocs at home. I'm now fairly confident I'll be able to make a wood sweet potato.

Blogging - Take Two

What? My last post was in December? Hmm, that's no good. Looks like I'll have to take a different approach to this blogging business.

From now on, I'm going to be much more active, and try to write more useful content. Go ahead and follow this blog, because it's going to be much better than it was before. More music, more recordings, more useful links, and more instruments. Oh yeah, baby.

Expect some posting soon.
